Ohio, Michigan are under focus

Ohio and Michigan are starting to begin as a solar manufacturing industry centers in the country. A solar energy manufacturing center has appeared with intense speed and support from the ample public incentives in the Midwest which will support in producing clean power in the world’s growing demand. The residential place in Ohio along with 13,400 residents DuPont is developing a 162,000 square foot with a cost of $175 million solar materials plant with the capacity of 70 employees.

Near the Midland, Mich about 320 miles towards north, Hemlock Semiconductor is creating a polycrystalline silicon plant with a cost of $1 billion to produce basic raw material in solar photovoltaic cells manufacture to convert the sunlight to electricity. With the creation of Hemlock Semiconductor plant there will be 300 jobs available before the end of the year. Along with these 2 plants there are about 3 latest solar facilities in Ohio and other 6 solar facilities in Michigan would take place.

Along with few conditions the Midwest has given the permission to start the plant. Previously Midwest has a record of manufacturing machined parts including other materials of PV panels like glass- Toledo region, polycrystalline- central Michigan, plastic films- Ohio which are functional in the area. There are great quantities of shuttered plants close to highway, rail, etc in both Ohio and Michigan which are easily converted for other uses in the country.

Another thing about these 2 states are they consist more number of unemployed or underemployed skilled manufacturing workers. The latest DuPont plant also includes a service which became inactive during the year 2009 which may be reopened in the coming year. John Odom, the DuPont Photovoltaic Fluoro Materials global business director said there most important challenge they had faced was to get investment very soon to fulfill the demand of the market.
